I’m about to go way in depth with this: those dogs are absolutely Castle & Beckett. Beckett comes on the scene as this ferocious little thing that bites back with a independence and stubbornness that no one expects. Castle literally sniffs around—looking for the story, digging to get information. Above, Lolita sniffs at Royal, showing that she’s interested in him once her disdain and annoyance for his unexpected presence in her life has worn away. Royal just continues to sniff and stare, trying to figure out this change, circling back to Lolita as she pulls away. Royal’s going to follow her, stick with her, pursue her as she pulls back. And in the end, these two find that they actually enjoy one another and wouldn’t mind if they spend the rest of forever together. They are so Castle & Beckett.
